The Viltrox AF 16mm F1.8 is Viltrox's highly anticipated large-aperture, ultra-wide-angle prime lens, marking their first release since officially joining the L-mount alliance. Combining a 16mm ultra-wide-angle with a bright F1.8 aperture, it dramatically expands the creative possibilities for creators, from landscapes, architecture, and astrophotography to vlogging and video production.
[Outstanding Optical Performance and Astrophotography Suitability]
Distortion, chromatic aberration, and reduced peripheral image quality, which are challenges in the 16mm ultra-wide-angle range, are thoroughly corrected with a luxurious 15-element, 12-group construction including 4 ED elements and 3 aspherical elements. It excels particularly in rendering point light sources, suppressing sagittal coma flare, and achieving practical and sharp depictions from F1.8 for astrophotography. The front element is flat, allowing direct attachment of versatile 77mm circular filters.
[Innovative Operability and Video Performance]
Equipped with Viltrox Pro series' characteristic "LCD lens information panel," allowing quick confirmation of focusing distance and aperture value even in dark environments. The AF, powered by an STM motor + lead screw system, is quiet and fast. The inner focusing system ensures that the overall length does not change during focusing, making it excellent for gimbal shooting. It also incorporates features that meet the needs of professionals, such as an aperture ring with switchable click/de-click and a USB-C port (for firmware updates) on the mount.

[16mm × F1.8 Large Aperture] Combines a 16mm ultra-wide angle for dynamic perspective expression with a bright F1.8 aperture. This expands creative possibilities even in dimly lit interiors, nightscapes, and astrophotography, where securing shutter speed is difficult.
[Optimal Optical Design for Astrophotography and Landscapes] Features 3 aspherical elements and 4 ED elements to achieve high resolution even at the edges of the image. Effectively suppresses sagittal coma flare, beautifully rendering stars as points. Also, since it's not a bulbous front element, 77mm circular filters can be attached.
[Professional Operability] Equipped with an "LCD information panel" to check distance indicators and f-values, an "aperture ring (with switchable click ON/OFF)" convenient for video shooting, and "two custom buttons (Fn1/Fn2)" that can be assigned to arbitrary functions.
[Strong AF for Video Shooting] Adopts an STM motor + lead screw system for fast and quiet AF. Focus breathing is also suppressed, making it ideal for video shooting and gimbal operation. Firmware can be updated via PC through the USB-C port on the mount.
