The second installment in Thypoch's Ksana series, the "35mm f/2 ASPH.," has arrived. This compact manual focus lens combines the 35mm focal length, a hallmark of the Leica M system, with Thypoch's unique optical philosophy.
It achieves a lightweight and nimble handling of approximately 199g, while also offering the subdued texture and high durability of a brass lens barrel. It balances portability with a design that beautifully harmonizes with classic cameras.
Featuring the original "Epoch Coating. '84," which reinterprets the unique light expression of the 1980s for the modern age, this lens delivers both classical colors and soft bokeh, alongside contemporary sharp rendering.

It features "Epoch Coating '84," a multi-layer coating inspired by the unique light expression of 1980s lenses. This coating reconstructs the distinctive gold-purple flares and cinematic rendering characteristics seen in lenses of that era using modern optical technology. The golden flares that appear depending on the angle of light create a retro atmosphere, giving photographs an impressive look.
Classical appearance with a brass lens barrel
The lens barrel is made of brass, offering a luxurious feel and excellent durability. Its moderate weight and precise texture create a strong sense of unity even when paired with an M-type body.
Additionally, the knurled aperture ring provides a comfortable grip, and the crescent-shaped focus lever supports smooth and comfortable focusing. The simple yet pleasing operability, allowing you to concentrate on shooting, is another attractive feature.
Optical design that achieves both high resolution and rich depiction
The optical design of 8 elements in 5 groups, including one aspherical lens, one ED lens, and two high refractive index lenses, achieves natural tonal rendering and soft bokeh.
The depiction, which has a solid core in the plane of focus while smoothly transitioning towards the background, beautifully and three-dimensionally portrays a wide range of subjects such as people and cityscapes.
It maintains clear resolution performance even in backlit conditions, and combines the sharp rendering typical of modern lenses while retaining the character of classic depiction.
