The SG-image 25mm F1.8 is a manual focus prime lens designed for APS-C cameras. With a natural angle of view equivalent to approximately 37.5mm (35mm format equivalent*), it is suitable for a wide range of scenes, including street photography, portraits, and table-top photography.
The bright f/1.8 aperture allows for expressive photography with a shallow depth of field, increasing photographic freedom even in low-light conditions such as indoors or during dusk. The optical design, consisting of 7 elements in 5 groups including 3 high-refractive index lenses, achieves a balance between natural depth expression that highlights the subject and a soft bokeh. With a short minimum focusing distance of 0.25m, it can also be used for close-up shots of food and small items, allowing for impressive close-up expressions with greatly blurred backgrounds.
Weighing approximately 160g, the compact and lightweight design offers excellent portability, making it easy to carry for everyday use and travel. The exterior features a metal barrel (full metal body), achieving both lightweight design and high rigidity and quality. The focus ring with appropriate torque and a clicked aperture ring provide the reliable and intuitive operability unique to manual focus lenses.
